Yuri Trutnev visited the Kultuminsky mining and processing complex in Transbaikalia

As part of a working trip to the Trans-Baikal Territory, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev visited the Kultuminsky Mining and Processing Plant, a large promising mining and processing plant located in the Gazimuro-Zavodsky District on the basis of the polymetallic deposit of the same name, and talked with the management and employees of the enterprise.

“Enterprises create new jobs and develop the economy of Transbaikalia and Russia.Today the price of copper and gold is high.This allows you to be confident in high profitability.I am pleased to see how a new economic project is being born in Transbaikalia,” said Yuri Trutnev.

Kultuminsky GOK is one of the key residents of the Transbaikalia ASEZ and is being implemented using modern technological solutions.The project is focused on the extraction of gold, copper and silver.

“The project was implemented in record time by industry standards: the stages of additional exploration, technological research, design and construction were completed in less than 4 years.The license for the field was received in May 2022, and in December 2025 the first batch of commercial products was already shipped,” noted Vladislav Sviblov, General Director of the Areal Group.

Currently, the plant is operating in commissioning mode with a phased commissioning of the enterprise.The project provides for the production of copper gold-bearing and gravity gold-bearing concentrates, and at the second stage - iron ore concentrate.Once the mining and processing plant reaches its design capacity, it will process up to 13 million tons of ore per year.

Currently, the number of employees is about 1.6 thousand people, almost 40% of whom are residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory.In total, the project plans to create up to 10 thousand jobs in related industries.

“The Trans-Baikal Territory today shows serious results in attracting investments.The emergence of industries such as the Kultuminsky Mining and Processing Plant means new jobs, taxes and opportunities for the development of entire territories.We see the responsible attitude of the investor and will continue to support such projects,” emphasized the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov.
