The main task of the delegation at the forum is to attract capital to transport, infrastructure, industry and the agro-industrial complex of the region.A special focus is placed on the development of border areas.A number of important negotiations have already taken place with Russian, Mongolian and Indian investors.

The delegation of Transbaikalia held a meeting with the large Russian transport and logistics holding JSC Eurosib SPB-TS.The company plans to implement a large-scale investment project in the region - to create an integrated transport and logistics center “Eurosib-Matsievskaya”.The launch of this facility will create about 200 new jobs in the Trans-Baikal Territory.Another important vector of work was negotiations with the Mongolian side. The parties discussed the launch of regular flights between Chita and Ulaanbaatar, which will significantly simplify logistics between the regions.

In addition, the delegations discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties.On July 22, 2026, the Temporary Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia, signed in June 2025 in Minsk, comes into force. It will zero out or reduce customs duties for 367 commodity items on each side.Regional Planning Minister Vitaly Ekkuzyan emphasized the need to quickly determine the list of in-demand goods for mutual trade and build new logistics routes.

Partnerships with Indian businesses are also expanding. The delegation of Transbaikalia held a working meeting with the non-profit partnership "Indian Business Alliance" led by Sammy Manoj Kotwani. This organization unites more than 150 companies and since 1994 has been promoting Indian business in Russia under the patronage of the Indian Embassy.

Indian business circles showed high interest in mining in the region, and also spoke about high-tech areas - pharmaceuticals, chemistry and agriculture.

The delegation of Transbaikalia presented unique preferential regimes in the region, including the International Territory of Advanced Development, and proposed that Indian business occupy vacant niches in dairy farming, poultry farming, and greenhouse farming.

The parties agreed to increase direct contacts. In the near future, the region will host an Indian business mission for detailed development of projects on site.Let us remind you that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is one of the largest business platforms in Russia, where most of the key decisions are made in direct dialogue. The theme of the forum in 2026 is “Pragmatic dialogue - the path to a stable future.”
